Core Start removes the traditional barriers to secure access control. There’s no software to install, no server to manage and no configuration required — making it ideal for projects that need to be installed quickly and work immediately.

What Is Core Start?

Core Start is a ready-to-deploy access control solution that combines factory-configured STid Architect readers with secure physical and mobile credentials. Once installed, credentials can be issued straight away, allowing systems to go live with minimal effort and no specialist programming.

Ready-to-Connect Readers

Core Start readers are supplied factory-configured and ready to install. They connect directly to existing access control systems using Wiegand or OSDP, removing the need for any on-site configuration.

The reader range includes mullion, standard, keypad and touchscreen options, with hybrid versions available to support legacy 125 kHz credentials. All readers are designed for reliability, with indoor and outdoor rated options and vandal-resistant construction.

Secure Physical Credentials – Ready to Use

Physical credentials are supplied pre-encoded and numbered, making enrolment quick and straightforward. Based on MIFARE DESFire EV3 technology, CORE Start credentials use advanced security mechanisms such as AES encryption, key diversification and Secure Messaging EV2.

Proximity Check technology helps prevent relay attacks by verifying the physical presence of the credential, delivering strong protection against cloning and unauthorised access.

Simple, Secure Mobile Access

CORE Start includes STid Mobile ID virtual credentials as standard, providing a fast and secure route to mobile access. Virtual cards are delivered via a secure, one-time QR code and can be downloaded instantly to a smartphone.

There’s no need for email invitations, user accounts or backend infrastructure. Users simply scan the code and start using their mobile credential straight away, supporting both NFC and Bluetooth identification.

CORE Start delivers enterprise-grade security without the complexity often associated with high-security access control. Its open DESFire EV3 architecture removes proprietary limitations while optional smart tools allow simple configuration when required — keeping control firmly with the installer.
