In memoriam: John O'Boyle 1939~2020

It is with the greatest sadness that CIE announces the passing of John O'Boyle – former managing director of CIE for almost 3 decades and friend & mentor to many throughout his career.

Joining CIE back in 1975 (then called 'Canadian Instruments & Electronics') as managing director, and having lead the company through its original management buy-out in 1993, John was a highly influential member of the company and the UK commercial audio industry throughout the 70s, 80s and 90s.

John's kind and thoughtful leadership style shaped the early years of the company, as well as the careers of many, many fledgling staff members past and present.

Although John retired from his long standing role as managing director back in 2004, his influence on the company's success continues to this day, through the many strong supplier and customer relationships built and maintained over the years that continue to form part of CIE's current day-to-day business.

John will always remain fondly remembered by those lucky enough to work with him as 'the company dad'.
