New Akuvox-HID Access Credential integration enhances security & flexibility for installers and end users.
Leading smart intercom brand Akuvox has introduced HID card credential technology into two of its flagship access devices; the X915 Smart Video Door Intercom and the A08S Access Reader - bringing advanced RFID capability and even greater flexibility to its commercial access control range.
These new HID-enabled devices are available now in the UK from CIE-Group, Akuvox’s main UK supply & technical support partner.

What are HID RFID Credentials - and how do they work across multiple access control platforms?
HID RFID credentials are secure, contactless access control technologies developed by HID Global - one of the world’s leading providers of trusted identity solutions. These credentials are widely used in commercial, corporate and institutional environments for door entry, secure printing, time & attendance and more.
HID credentials use Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology to transmit encrypted identification data between a user’s card or fob and a reader. HID offers several types of RFID credentials, with the most common being:
- HID Prox (125kHz): A longstanding industry standard, widely deployed in legacy systems.
- HID iCLASS (13.56MHz): A more advanced, secure credential using smart chip encryption for enhanced data protection.
