Hardwick Hall’s newly developed Visitor Centre features a custom Audio Rack Build Design with Inter-M’s Audio Matrix system and Amplifiers
The National Trust’s historic Hardwick Hall has recently undergone a transformation of its Stableyard buildings to provide a ‘front of house’ welcome to the thousands of visitors attending each year; the development of a brand new Visitor Centre to provide information, retail and catering facilities.
The newly developed Visitor Centre provides a starting point for all visitors to the Elizabethan Hardwick Hall and, therefore, delivering a pleasant acoustic enviroment paired with clear information via the PA was paramount to the development’s audio system design.
Professional audio installers - Midland Communications - were tasked with the project and, working in close partnership with CIE’s technical services team, designed a fully integrated Public Address and Background Music rackbuild system to provide zoned coverage both in the Visitor Centre and redeveloped Stable Block.
The resulting audio rack (built in-house by CIE’s Technical Services Team) provides Background Music (from an MCD15 CD Player) and Voice Paging distributed to 4 separate zones using the InterM PX8000 8x8 Audio Matrix.
The Rack is powered by InterM QD-4240 Quad Amplifiers with signals being transmitted between buildings via our unique SONET4 Audio-over-CAT5 cable Distribution System.
