8″ 180W RMS Active Polypropolene Music Cabinet Loudspeaker, white

The Titan8AW Wharfedale Pro speaker in White is part of the Titan Active Professional Speaker range. The 180W 8 inch speaker utilises Wharfedale’s Class D technology brings lightness to a powerful system, much lighter than it’s predecessors.

The Titan8AW has been created using the Q-bit technology, precise and powerful 28/56-bit 192KHz DSP processing, heavy duty cast frame woofer, titanium compressor to produce smooth sound delivery with wide dispersion of mid and high frequencies expected through the Titan Range of speakers.

This lightweight ultra-portable compact speaker lends itself to several applications such as:

Titan Portablility:
The 180W Titan8AW Powered Wharfedale Cabinet is the smallest speaker in the series, though small does not equal less. This speaker is a mixture of portability and power, with an unexpected depth for an 8” speaker. The ergonomic appearance & shape along with a polypropylene shell containing internal laminar flow rib patterns create a strong sound. Its compact size renders it ideal in the mobile DJ, public address and live band applications. This 8″ model has frequency wide frequency response where the low end is low and clear and has tuned bass ports.

Titan installation (indoor/outdoor):
The Titan Active Series boasts to be one of Wharfedale’s most lightweight professional loudspeakers to date. The Class D technology with bi-amplification with the same rugged build as the Passive range has resulted in a wide range of applications and environments.

Elliptical Wave Guide:
Wharfedale has undergone intensive computer modeling of natural acoustic enhancement and created a 90° x 60° high frequency elliptical horn design. Hard edges and corners were eliminated to create a more ergonomic and acoustically transparent high-frequency pattern control whilst enabling quality and frequency of sound. Sound if smoother, reduces high frequency distortion & diffraction resulting in smoother frequency response, greater driver efficiency and improved vocal and instument reproduction.

DSP Technology:
The Titan D models incorporate Qubit technology which is an effective 24-bit 192kHz DSP processing. With advanced adaptive multi-band dynamic processing and filtering Qubit helps fine tune your system to sound natural and open. Qubit processing optimises the loudspeaker to provide smooth digital crossover points that are perfectly aligned in terms of phase response and time-domain. Protection is offered in the form of true independent adaptive LF and HF signal limiting that helps protect against thermal damage and driver over excursion. Qubit has an extended frequency response that goes way beyond the capabilities of our hearing, providing an extended phase response that remains linear throughout our natural hearing range. This enables Titan D to reproduce exceptionally natural transients and exhibit perfectly aligned time-domain characteristics.

Ports:
There are 2 reflex tuned ports on the front of the Titan Series that provides an enhanced low frequency response from the enclosure.

Transducers:
The Titan Active Series features custom-made heavy-duty low frequency precisely matched to a high frequency Titanium compression driver with integral bi-amplification. Both drivers are designed for maximum output, wide dispersion and precise audio signal reproduction.
