These free HDMI / HDBaseT Training Academies provide all the core knowledge required to confidently specify and install both commercial and CI multi-room AV systems using standard HDMI and the latest HDBaseT 5Play and 3Play converged signal technologies. “Over the past year, we’ve been delivering these Academies to our customers to ensure we’re delivering the right level of in-depth information which installers from every experience level will understand and benefit from.”, explains CIE’s CYP Product Manager Martin Featherstone.
“We understand that for an installer to invest their day with us, we have to deliver value. So the CYP Training Academies we’re delivering provide highest quality information and knowledge and – importantly we believe – are provided completely free of charge. Previous delegates, in fact, told us ‘Maybe we shouldn’t say this, but we would have happily paid for this training!”.
The sessions offer a balance of structured presentations, interactive demonstrations and ‘hands-on’ Q&A on HDBaseT 5Play and HDMI distribution, the cornerstone of CYP’s latest range of AV distribution products. HDBaseT provides an unrivalled feature-set which converges full uncompressed HD video, audio, 100BaseT Ethernet, Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) and control signals through single Cat5e/6 cable over distances of 100 metres.
Delegates will also be treated to free lunch, refreshments throughout the day as a well as access to exclusive discounts on CYP orders and a first look at new and future products from CYP and CIE-Group.
Places can be booked by calling CIE- Group on T. 0115 9770075 or emailing [email protected]
What topics and products does the course focus on?
The CYP HDMI Distribution and HDBaseT Design course aims to educate the installer/integrator on the basic principles of HDMI and signal distribution. Knowledge of these principles is a fundamental requirement for effectively designing and installing AV installations today. The course looks at HDMI devices, and how the technology works between the source and the screen. It also offers advice and suggestions for system design as well as covering the latest in HDBaseT Technology.
Our AV Academy offers installers and integrators the opportunity to get ‘hands on’ with products from the CYP range including. switchers, scalers, HDMI over CAT X solutions, matrices, HDMI audio solutions and the latest in HDBaseT technology.
As well as practical training, the course also offers coaching in a range of fundamental installation skills including, fault finding, system design, audio management and real world integration scenarios.
What are the key benefits and skills it offers those completing the training?
We aim to create a friendly training environment where professional integrators and installers from commercial AV and CI markets can confidently build on their existing knowledge.
Our one day course provides a background in the fundamentals required to confidently specify, design and install multi-room AV systems. The course also provides the delegate with the tools to be able to diagnose and solve a range of the installation problems they may encounter. Attendees will also walk away with a better understanding of how HDMI products work, and the complex initialisation process between source and screen. The course also looks at EDID management and HDCP issues.
However, perhaps the key benefit of the CYP Training Academy, over and above comparative courses, is that it is free to attend. We fully funded by us, and delivered at zero cost to all delegates.
Which users are best suited to the course?
Anyone involved in installing, designing or specifying an AV system would benefit from attending the course. We’ve also made sure that the course is not just about wiring and installing a system, but also about how the system is going to be used by the end user. The course also tries to address any preconceptions around HDMI / HDBaseT distribution through education and training. On completion of the course delegates will be familiar with the latest benefits of HDBaseT technology and be empowered to design, install and test a single CAT multi-signal delivery solution, in all types of installation scenario.
Previous Delegate Testimonials
Sam Clayton, Richer Sounds
“As an experienced AV installer it is vital for me to keep abreast of emerging trends in the market. From that point of view, the course was really effective as it covered the basics of HDMI distribution while also giving a comprehensive overview of 4K, HDMI 2.0 and related products with interesting solutions. The knowledge gained is going to be very useful in my day to day job. I would recommend this course to people starting in this field as well as the older hands.”
Leigh McHenry, SV Electrical
“As a new entrant into the AV integration sector it is important to develop a solid understanding of some fundamental areas – one of these being HDMI distribution. The course was very useful on this front because it filled many of the gaps in my knowledge while also giving me the confidence and skills to take the next steps on my path to becoming a fully-fledged AV integrator. The offer of technical back up post-course was also encouraging and reassuring.”
